The Government white paper concluded that another commercial airport in Cardiff would not attract enough traffic to make it viable, and therefore, further expansion would be concentrated at the existing Cardiff International Airport.
Subject to satisfactory resolution of any local environmental concerns, additional terminal capacity and surface access improvements will be required to facilitate the airport’s long term growth plan.
Air and noise pollution is therefore a concern for the local Cardiff community. The Airport will aim to minimise the pollution for surrounding residents, however, it is likely that the airport expansion would have an impact on house prices.
However, as the airport expands, more jobs will be created and Cardiff will become more of a hub for regular flyers, and so could have a positive effect on the house prices.
